· Help: How to open the port in Windows Firewall for printing from Metra POS Software? |
If you get an error message (like the one shown on the picture bellow) in Metra POS Software when making a procedure that involves printing a document (invoice, delivery note, etc.), or you are installing Metra POS Software on a new computer with installed printer, that will be used to print POS documents.

Go to Control Panel and run "Windows Firewall".
In the "Exceptions" tab add port "6779" or see the list of other Ports required for Metra Software operation.

Go to Control Panel and run "Windows Firewall".
Click on the "Advanced settings".

Select "Inbound Rules" and...
|
... click on the on the "Action" and "New Rule...".
|
In the "New Inbound Rule Wizard" opens, select "Port".
|
When the "New Inbound Rule Wizard" window opens select "Port" and click "Next >".
|
Select "TCP" protocol, type-in specific port number and click "Next >".
NOTE: You can type-in multiple ports. This example shows two ports: 6778 for Metra Info Client application and 6779 for Metra POS Software. See also the list of other Ports required for Metra Software operation.

Check all options (profiles) and click "Next >".
|
Type-in new rule's name and description and click "Next >".
|
New rule is successfully created.
